How SolShare divides & distributes energy

SolShare is an AC input to AC output device. It takes the AC output of a solar inverter and distributes it to individual grid fed (and metered) loads. SolShare accepts a three-phase AC supply and distributes each of the three-phase inputs to five outputs, for a total of 15 output connections.

SolShare does not transform power, it is not acting as an inverter or switch mode power supply.

SolShare monitors delivery of AC energy, and the AC energy requirement (demand) of each connection. This information informs SolShares smart sharing algorithm to dynamically shift the AC energy to flats that will consume the generation, resulting in increased self-consumption.

SolShare monitors the energy demand of each connected flat and directs the AC generation to flats at times their energy demand will result in more consumption of solar. It can shift the power around at a frequency of 2Hz.

Being able to shift the AC generation 2Hz results in peak demands being met and a typical increase in self-consumption of 15-20% compared to if each flat had their own system.

The behind-the-meter solution requires no change to existing electrical infrastructure and is intuitively designed to make the installation process as simple as possible for solar installer partners.
