Share the power

SolShare is the leader in shared solar technology.

This smart hardware enables solar energy from a single rooftop solar system to be shared across all apartments and common areas.

Divide it fairly

SolShare fairly distributes the solar electricity between apartments over the course of each month.

Your building can choose to split it evenly or by lot entitlement.

Use more solar, save more money

By sending energy to residents when they need it most, SolShare delivers 15-20% more savings than solar on standalone homes.

Battery-ready

With SolShare, you can store energy in a single battery bank for your building, allowing residents to benefit from solar energy throughout the evening.

"...Allume was extremely helpful and guided us at each step... Our system is now operating and each lot in our building is receiving at least 30% of their power from the system."

"I first came across Allume about five years ago... They’ve always been incredibly informative and supportive as our apartment block planned to install solar... Last year we installed a 24kW shared solar system that, thanks to Allume, is now equally shared between all 12 Lots! Couldn’t recommend them more highly!"

Strata & shared solar, explained

If you live in a multi-unit building in Melbourne, your owners' corporation is central to getting solar installed. Here's what's involved

  1. The owners' corporation governs your building, including the decisions about common property – like the roof your solar panels will sit on.

  2. It plays a key role in the Solar for Apartments rebate application process.

  3. It organises the voting meeting and manages the owner vote.

  4. Allume has experience working with owners' corporations and can help you through the process. Click below to find out how.

Steps to solar sharing

1. Get a building assessment

We'll run a quick desktop assessment of your building and send you a summary of the estimated costs, potential savings and whether your building is suitable for SolShare.

2. Involve your neighbours

Introduce solar and its benefits, and involve your strata manager for support. And we support with Q&A's and engagement with your strata. You'd be surprised how many people are keen!

3. Get quotes from installers

We can connect you with 2-3 trusted installers who will do an on-site visit and provide detailed quotes.

4. Organise funding

You may find you have enough in your capital works/sinking fund. Plus, there are government grants and rebates available and low-interest strata loans.

5. Vote yes for solar

Projects of this kind often only require a 50% consensus. Talk with your strata manager to schedule an EGM/SGM early in the process.

6. Enjoy cheaper, cleaner energy

Your chosen installer will connect your building to SolShare, and you'll enjoy lower energy bills and clean energy from the sun.
