Ben Potter of The Energy has covered our proposal to level the playing field for apartment residents under the Cheaper Home Batteries Program. Right now, the subsidy calculation favours single-occupant homes, so our CEO and co-founder Cameron Knox has proposed a change to how the battery subsidy is calculated – one which would both level the playing field for apartment residents and ensure the way the rebate is administered fits within 'the intent of the original regulation'. The piece also covers why we think apartments are the natural home for community batteries.

"The best place to put a battery to do both is behind the meter, and the best way to service multiple customers behind the meter is to have a shared system, and the only way you can do that is in an apartment building. So we feel that apartments are just so well placed to be the focal point for community batteries, not just in Australia but globally."
– Cameron Knox, Allume CEO & Co-Founder
